14u Team 2025 goes 3 and 1 on the weekend

The 14u team 2025 had a strong weekend, going 3-1 and beating teams from three states at the Ripken Baseball Turn Two Tournament in Aberdeen, Maryland.

Charlie helped the Bulldogs to a dream start in pool play on Saturday, throwing a five-inning no-hitter and leading the 14u team to a 13-2 romp over the South Jersey Braves. Charlie struck out five, walked two and allowed two unearned runs, but only after the Bulldogs had built a 13-0 lead. He helped his cause by going 2 for 3 at the plate, including an RBI double in the first inning that made it 3-0. Leadoff batter Ryker also had two hits for the Bulldogs and drove in two runs.

Later Saturday, the Bulldogs rallied with five runs in the fifth inning to beat the Berlin, Maryland-based Delmarva Aces 9-5 and improve to 2-0 in pool play. Trailing 5-3 in the fifth, the Bulldogs got within a run on Jake’s RBI triple. Ryan followed with a single to drive in Jake and tie the game, and Drew drove in two more with a triple that put the Bulldogs ahead for good. On the mound, Ryan worked two innings of scoreless relief to keep the Bulldogs in front.

In elimination play on Sunday, the 14u squad rallied again, shrugging off an early 2-0 deficit and beating a Northern Virginia rival, the BBU Black Eagles, 7-3. Ryker had a two-out, bases-clearing triple during a four-run second inning. Adam got the win, allowing three runs (two earned) on one hit in 4 1/3 innings. Charlie had a two-run single in the fifth that put the Bulldogs ahead 6-3.

The Bulldogs’ run in the tournament ended later Sunday with a 15-1 loss to the top-seeded West Chester Dragons, who held the 14u squad to one hit. The Bulldogs were the last remaining team from the DMV region in the tournament.
